long time no see (slash - blog?)
yeah...ummm...ooops.
At any rate, I won't even try to fill you in on the details that I missed these past few weeks (oy). But there are several interesting things that happened recently, so I'll dish:
Mather Lather. Ok, so even though I live in Mather, this is the first year I decided to go to the Lather. Now I realize why I didn't go before - because it sucked (in the bad way). First of all, there were like no gay boys whatsoever, which is both tragic and fairly unusual for campus-wide dances. So that was terrible. The lather part was ok, I suppose. It was wet, and soapy. I ended up wearing my t-shirt the whole time, which I think was a mistake both for the health and safety of my nipples and because I think the wet shirt didn't hang as flatteringly on my torso as I would have liked. I should have just gone topless. Oh well, you live, you learn. At any rate, I (unsurprisingly) found no one, and (also unsurprisingly) ran back to my room as quickly as possible to condition my hair...and shower. Thankfully my hair was not a victim of the harsh suds...my skin on the other hand...let's just say this dance is going to hit my supply of body lotion pretty hard.
Even more recently however - I had an odd experience at starbucks, where this guy in slacks and a button-down shirt was staring at me obviously in a way that would be kinda sweet if I hadn't made it really obvious that I wasn't interested. As I was leaving starbucks I had to pass him, so I decided to make a phone call to avoid any unnecessary contact. I passed him on my way out, but he got ahead of me, held the door even though I was taking my time so as to avoid that very situation, and then followed me all the way to Leverett at which point I went in the gate and he turned around and started walking back towards the square. Sooooo freaky. And it's so tragic, a few subtle differences in age and appearance and he totally would have been datable. At least, to the extent that freaky guys who have propensities toward stalking can be considered datable.
That is all for now. Reading period is coming up soon, which means I will have nothing to do but procrastinate. So you can expect blog posts more frequently.

I feel slightly better for not going to the Lather after reading this. A couple of my female friends experienced a little sketch, but foam-filled parties have a tendency to be sketchy (and gay boy-less too, I guess).
The sudden-death realization of a gay boy-less party is as scary as a drive-by -- you immediately wanna drop down and get the hell out!
